Q. An unashamed rockabilly thrash with, twangy guitars, distorted solos and discordant sax - what’s the story behind this one ?
WB. Musically it just started from playing about with a guitar riff in like "Shaking All Over". Lyrically it's quite complicated to explain. It's my simple rock version of James Joyce's The Dead in that even though you think you know someone you can never know everything they're thinking (which is one of the main themes of that short story). So in a nutshell if I went home and told Helen I like “girls who wear red dresses” I think she'd give me a doin'.
Q. So, the themes of love and loss of Gabriel and Gretta Conroy and the tragedy of Michael Furey interpreted in a Johnny Kidd and the Pirates style. What’s not to like?
